Pratyahara & Koshas

Nature doesn't communicate in human language, with words - the communication comes in - out - through our senses and in all aspects of our beingness.

And we have more than five senses. A LOT more.

Learn why understanding the vastness of your senses is essential to listening to Land, Nature, each other, your Inner Nature, and why it's necessary to an experiential understanding of Yoga.

You know that as a human you are part of Nature and therefore you MUST be able to communicate with Nature.

And there is...it's right there under your nose - er, rather, your nose is part of the communication ability.

This Senses course will help expand and enhance your sensory awareness and most importantly start to understand why being in touch with ALL of your 100+ senses is key to being in communication with Nature...AND yourself.

We’ll also weave in reasons for the reframing of Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses) and why that is a key perspective shift when it comes to a Yoga practice.

How we’ll explore Your Sensory Vastness

This course is built around the very clear understanding that the only way to really understand our Nature and Nature is to be in real direct contact with Nature; that in order to understand and experience your senses, you'll have to get in touch with your relationship with Nature and weave it into your Yoga Practice.

So that means...
lotsa time outside exploring yourself and Nature.
During your walking or sitting meditations, there will likely be some tree-hugging, puddle splashing, and rose smelling along the way...if that's what arises.

What You Receive & How You Are Supported On The Journey…

On-Demand &

Self-paced Content

7 core lessons with short easy-to-get through videos to learn from but with Audio-to-go and/or text activities that you can download so that you can take this outside or to your mat easily. And get going on the good stuff (away from screens).

Go at your own pace, on your own time and speed...for reals, stop and smell (and feel) the roses - 'cause, you know, it's a course on senses.

Peer Integration & Shared Reflection

Ask Questions & Get Responses

Even though you can go at your own pace, you don't necessarily have to do it alone...unless you want that (lol) - I'm an introvert, so I get it.

It can be nice to be able to share aha's with others, read about other's aha's, in a casual but supportive way.

Usually with these self-paced offerings, there's no access, or it's a time-limited access, to ask questions.

I'm a deep contemplator myself and the questions don't arise based on someone else's schedule or timing. They come when they come. And that's why there's an #askNatt feature. Ask when you're ready. I'll respond as soon as I can.

How long will it take to complete this course?

There are 8 videos (including introduction to what senses are) with a total watch-time of 2 hours. Each lesson has a focused activity that comes in an easy to download text or audio that supports as you go into Nature or on your mat.

The pacing is gentle, and you’re encouraged to move in a way that honours your energy.

With that in mind, you could structure the timing however you want:
You could set aside a weekend - a mini retreat at home - and complete the course.
You could do an hour a day for 8 days.
Or, if you're like me and tend to like to go deep, you could do a lesson a week and be done in two months.

Why start now?

Because you’re already feeling the pull.

There’s a reason this course and work caught your eye. If you’re feeling the nudge to deepen your understanding of Nature Connection, Applied-EcoPsychology, your humanity and Naturalness, then this is an inner sense rising up to speak to you - that’s your sense of attraction "speaking".

Senses, and all the Conversations With Nature courses, are available year-round because alignment has its own rhythm.

There’s no deadline to race toward, because well, that's not how Nature works. But if your interest is peaked, your sense of curiosity and attraction are arising then…this is your invitation.

The Senses course is for Yoga Practitioners and/or Yoga Teachers who:

  • Want to work in an experiential somatic way that allows the knowledge to come from connection and not as a concept, i.e., learn from Nature instead of about Nature - what I call a Prana based practice.

  • Want to be able to listen to the land again, to begin to hear the things our ancestors knew - what I believe to be the original way to practice.

  • Want to be able to listen more deeply to ourselves and Nature so that we don’t miss or doubt what we are being told by our bodies & Nature.

  • Explore how they can begin to access some of the ways of knowing based on a DIRECT connection with the Land through their bodies and how that's a doorway to a sense of EXPERIENCE of Union.

  • Better understand the aspects of our Koshas (bodies) in connection with Nature.

What the Senses course focuses on:

  • This course dives deeply into understanding of all the senses in all aspects of our beingness (not just physical)

  • Why the Senses are often underused and misunderstood

  • Why being in touch with our senses is important in our relationship with ourselves, Nature, others

  • Why senses are an essential "thing" to embrace and nurture (not withdrawl from) - especially in a Yoga practice

What the Senses course DOESN'T focus on:

  • This course does not tell you WHAT to feel or hear - but rather asks you to be present to this moment and yourself and explore what's really there.

  • You won't be told that things like: The Heart Chakra = x, 3 Owls means X.

  • This course will NOT give you Indigenous knowledge or wisdom but will help in being a better listener if you are invited into those spaces.

Why Learn From Me?

I have a Ph.D in Applied EcoPsychology
(aka Nature Connection)

And I didn't get it because I wanted some fancy letters behind my name but because it truly is a genuine love of mine.
It's been over 25+ years of this work, writing a book called Yoga WITH Nature, offering workshops and retreats...and now online. And I love it even more than I did when I started.

I make it simple but not static

I'm Highly SENSE-itive

Yup, true story! The older I get the more I appreciate when people get to the point and especially when it comes to being in front of a screen.

I get you the most pertinent stuff so you can take it to go...

See what I did there??? Sensitive - as in SENSES!! (I'm punny).

That's right, for once, being highly sensitive is a super-power. You'd want a sensitive "teacher" for a course on SENSES.
