What we bring into Nature is often what stops us from being able to be in communication with Nature - I'm talking about the often unrealized assumptions and stories.

This work invites you to release your deep-seated, often unconscious story-connections to Nature, to consider where those stories arose from, how they were woven into your fabric as a person, and which ones you might want to set aside in order to communicate genuinely with Nature.

We'll also explore how we do this same thing in our Yoga practices and how those stories are often weaponized against our bodies wisdom.

Presence-based Practice

We'll start the exploration in understanding how stories are born and carried in culture, between generations, and why we need to set them down (at least until we can learn to communicate without layering stories and meanings onto interactions).

We’ll talk about Meaning-making and delve into the connections that give stories their depth and significance, enhancing your understanding of how narratives shape collective experiences.

And how that all shows up even in Yoga.

How we’ll explore Stories

This course is built around the very clear understanding that the only way to really understand our Nature and Nature is to be in real direct contact with Nature; that in order to understand and experience what it's like to be truly present, you'll have to get in touch with your stories about yourself and about Nature.

So that means...lotsa time outside being present with what your mind is telling you about Nature, your senses, and attractions.
You may find yourself in rapture with a Mountain-friend who will drop some wisdom that blows your mind (in the good way).

Peer Integration & Shared Reflection

Ask Questions & Get Responses

Even though you can go at your own pace, you don't necessarily have to do it alone...unless you want that (lol) - I'm an introvert, so I get it.

It can be nice to be able to share aha's with others, read about other's aha's, in a casual but supportive way.

Usually with these self-paced offerings, there's no access, or it's a time-limited access, to ask questions.

I'm a deep contemplator myself and the questions don't arise based on someone else's schedule or timing. They come when they come. And that's why there's an #askNatt feature. Ask when you're ready. I'll respond as soon as I can.

How long will it take to complete this course?

There are 7 videos (including introduction) with a total watch-time of just over an hour. Each lesson has a focused activity that comes in an easy to download text or audio that supports as you go.

The pacing is gentle, and you’re encouraged to move in a way that honours your energy.

With that in mind, you could structure the timing however you want:
You could set aside a weekend - a mini retreat at home - and complete the course.
You could do an hour a day for 7 days.
Or, if you're like me and tend to like to go deep, you could do a lesson a week and be done in just over a month.

Why start now?

Because you’re already feeling the pull.

There’s a reason this course and work caught your eye. If you’re feeling the nudge to deepen your understanding of how your Stories maybe entering into your conversations with Nature unnecessarily....then this is your invitation.

Stories, and all the Conversations With Nature courses, are available year-round because alignment has its own rhythm.

There’s no deadline to race toward, because well, that's not how Nature works.

The Stories course is for Yoga Practitioners and/or Yoga Teachers who:

  • Want to work in an experiential somatic way that allows the knowledge to come from connection and not as a concept, i.e., learn from Nature instead of about Nature - what I call a Prana based practice.

  • Want to dissolve some of the patterns of thinking that hinder deep connection to self, others, life, Nature.

  • Want to begin the understanding of how to have Conversation With Nature and their Inner Nature, fostering a deeper connection and understanding of your environment

  • Want to be able to listen to the land again, to begin to hear the things our ancestors knew - what I believe to be the original way to practice.

  • Explore how to begin to access some of the ways of knowing based on a DIRECT connection with the Land through their bodies and how that's a doorway to a sense of EXPERIENCE of Union.

What the Stories course focuses on:

  • What is a Story; why they aren't always healthy.

  • The how and why you might want to dissolve or transform certain Stories.

  • How we carry Stories with us into our practices and Nature and how that defines how we choose to move and interact with ourselves and Nature.

  • How Stories are carried through generations, even if they aren't supportive or applicable.

What the Stories course DOESN'T focus on:

  • This course does not tell you WHAT to feel or hear - but rather asks you to be present to this moment and yourself and explore what's really there.

  • This course will NOT give you Indigenous knowledge or wisdom but will help in being a better listener if you are invited into those spaces.

Why Learn From Me?

I have a Ph.D in Applied EcoPsychology
(aka Nature Connection)

And I didn't get it because I wanted some fancy letters behind my name but because it truly is a genuine love of mine.
It's been over 25+ years of this work, writing a book called Yoga WITH Nature, offering workshops and retreats...and now online. And I love it even more than I did when I started.

I make it simple but not static

I'm Presence-based

Yup, true story! The older I get the more I appreciate when people get to the point and especially when it comes to being in front of a screen.

I get you the most pertinent stuff so you can take it to go...

As a highly-sensitive person, an introvert, a Yoga "teacher" and an avid Nature lover - presence isn't a flashy word to me, it's a way of life that I put a lot of effort and time into nurturing. Having moments that are senses and presence based aka "out-of-our minds" are truly graces and gifts that I help other people learn to nurture.
